Your thoughts and behaviour make a difference

I found this writing by Inessa Burdich to be beautiful and wanted to share it:

“I have come to the conclusion that I am the crucial element. It is my personal attitude that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that determines the weather. I possess enormous power to make life miserable or joyful. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration, I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations it is my reaction that decides whether a crisis escalates or de-escalates and whether a person is humanized or dehumanized. When we treat people as they are, we make them worse. When we treat people as they should be, we help them become what they are capable of.” – Inessa Burdich
