Extra Grace Required

One of the principles I sometimes share is “Extra Grace Required”. At this point it looks like we may be self-isolating for longer than first expected. That means more time with family, which can be phenomenal (1 way or the other). I recently heard a family law lawyer interviewed and she mentioned there is often a rise in number of couples separating after the Christmas holidays and expects it to be similar here. That’s where “extra grace required” can ...

Finishing Strong

Here we are in the month of November and some folks are engaged in planning for next year.  On January 1 we not only step into a new year – we step into a new decade.

Wow!

So, I’d like to ask you a question:  what are you planning so that you complete this year strong and enter the new decade with momentum?  Do you have a vision for that, and what you’d like to achieve? If so, what is it?

Or, have you decided that there isn’t much ...

Remembrances

Today is a day we honor those who have fought for our freedom, including those who gave their lives in service, that we may experience the right to live and speak freely, create, evolve and become more and more aware and awake to what Life is and offers.

How often do you take a moment to appreciate the life you are living? the people who love you and you love? and the experiences you’ve had and the gifts and opportunities you have to contribute?

There’s a saying that, “you don’t ...

Git up or Git out –

I saw a post on Facebook, a few months ago, where a man was dancing to a tune.  He looked like he was having a lot of fun.  I then started to see others dancing to the same tune.

I got interested in watching some of them.  Everyone appeared to be having fun, and each had their own “spin” – their own unique expression, though the tune was the same. It was the “Git Up Challenge”.  Did you see it?

Not long after, I started to notice the tune ...

No Private Thought

There is no private thought –

We walk around with our thoughts all day and sometimes all night long, speaking only a portion of them out loud.

Yet are you aware that there are no private thoughts?  The Universe hears every thought you and I think. And if that is too much for the scientists in the crowd, we do know that at the very least it registers the frequency of the thought.  We are broadcasting all the time – from whatever channel we ...

Deserving vs Entitlement

Recently, and in less than 12 hours, I was involved in 3 separate conversations about the difference between deserving and entitlement.

In one conversation a parent was feeling pressed by her son, who was in his late 20’s, for money, a car, and other items.  In another conversation a teacher was commenting on a younger colleague, 30+ or so, who believed the government ought to be subsidizing her so she could purchase a home.  This younger teacher also felt she wasn’t being paid enough and ought to ...

Your Expectations

Why “gotta start small”?

I once had someone tell me I needed to reset my expectations down – that I had to start small and work up.  Or that was the message I received.

At the time I didn’t realize it was actually her paradigm or pattern of thinking that was speaking.

Yet one need only watch some of the talent shows to witness the fallacy of the “start small” and have to “work up” belief.  People of every age come onto those stages for their ...

Tools to Clear Out the Old for Ever!

“The decision to let go of that which has completed its course in your experience is even more important than the decision to welcome new ideas” – Raymond Charles Barker.

Yet letting go of the old isn’t our normal experience here on planet earth, is it?  We often go through life piling up hurts, sorrow, pain, guilt and the like from things we’ve done or had done to us.  Some of us horde ideas, others horde things.  We often believe we are justified in one way or ...

What would you love to be, have or do?

Many people today feel unfulfilled in their work or some area of their life. This impacts their health, relationships and the quality of their work.  Studies show that when people have a vision and link their purpose to their work, they are happier, productivity improves, profitability increases and the workplace is more enjoyable.

Yet while some may have written a vision and mission statement at a place of work, its framed it on the wall somewhere, gets passed by as a novelty – just words ...
