Being Kind

What does kindness mean to you?  I was recently talking with a friend who mentioned that people were taking advantage of her “kindness”.  This was a business situation in which she had not been clear and had extended herself out of what she perceived as a kind gesture.  The other person didn’t appear to understand that and hence conflict arose between them.  Sometimes it is kind to be clear.

How do you see Your World?

“We don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are.” #quote (attributed to Anais Nin, and to Stephen Covey by some). I agree with the first part that “we don’t see the world as it is”, however the second part didn’t resonate fully with me. From what I know, we see the world through the eyes of who we think we are; the identity and personality we’ve grown into or adopted. It seems to me that ...

Desire is key to rise above Division

As many of us know, our beliefs about ourselves and the world are the lens through which we see and interpret our surroundings. In the world of duality and opposites, there’s always another side to the story or as we used to say, the “beachball”. (Where I grew up, we played with large blow-up plastic beachballs. Each ball had 6 different colored panels so when you were holding it, one side had 3 colors (say red, black and green), and ...

Be the Shining Light that you are. Engage in acts of kindness from your heart.

“Nothing can dim the Light that shines from within.” Maya Angelou #quote.

We can and do, however, put a cloak-like filter in front of our light in this world of duality in which we find ourselves, so the light of who we truly are is filtered through patterns of thoughts and beliefs.

Sometimes we see a “shining light”; someone who inspires us in some way whether through an accomplishment, a gift or an act of kindness.

Yet, each of us shines ...

If you’re looking for truth, seeking the truth from media is like asking the warden for the keys to the jail cell.

It’s starting to seem to me that seeking the truth from media is like asking the warden for the keys to the jail cell.

Have you found that the media has become be less balanced and more 1 sided?  Whether or not we agree with the content, that’s certainly my impression. As a lawyer, I like to look at many sides to an issue and make my own choices and decisions. That’s almost impossible now, based on what is coming ...

Its time! Now’s the time for you to align with your Purpose, Awaken, Rise and Shine!

The first new moon for 2021 is January 12 or 13 (depending where in the world you live).

Some folks may not pay attention to the cycles of the moon, yet those on the frontlines of healthcare know that full moon times can be more dramatic than other times of the month.

I love to set intentions aligned with the new moon cycles – more so that by the clocks and calendars we work with. I find a more natural ...

The Gift for January: to restructure your Notion of Forgiveness from Framing to Freedom!

Hi everyone,

Normally for January I’d be writing about resolutions and becoming clear on what we would love to create for the year.  This year is different.

I’ve noticed there seems to be a split going on in society.  Some folks are becoming more and more afraid, while others are focusing on healing and greater personal freedom.  This seems to be the case regardless of the level of “lock down” people are in and experiencing.  It’s showing up in many ways, including ...

Feeling uncertain? Stuck? Love some inspiration?

Do you find yourself sometimes (or often) thinking in either/or terms? Like… I can do this or that, I can have this or that, I can eat this or that…?

Many of us have learned to look to our outside circumstances or a situation and let it tell us what we can or can’t do.

And that doesn’t feel empowering, does it?!

What if this were, in truth, a backward way of looking at things.  What if there were another way – one ...

Resilience Tip No. 3

Resilience in the Era of COVID – and any time for that matter!

Hi there!  Today I’m going to share with you a third tip to be more resilient.

So that we are on the same page, when I use the word ‘resilience’, I’m using Wiki’s definition which is: 1) the capacity to recover quickly; 2) an ability to adjust easily to change; or 3) the ability to spring back.

This quote by the Dalai Lama made me laugh: “If you think you’re ...

Resilience Tip No. 2

Hi there!  Today I’m going to share with you a second tip to be more resilient.

When I use the word ‘resilience’, I’m using Wiki’s definition which is: 1) the capacity to recover quickly; 2) an ability to adjust easily to change; or 3) the ability to spring back.

I love this quote by Neale Donald Walsch: “The struggle ends when gratitude begins.

Which brings me to Tip No. 2: to increase resilience, choose to be grateful on a daily basis.

Gratitude is a ...
